The Washington State Department of Commerce is administering $5.6 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) rebate funds for the Washington State Cash for Appliances Program. Rebates will be paid to Washington residential consumers who purchase eligible ENERGY STAR® appliances and replace their resource-wasting appliance.
The goal of this program is to encourage the retirement of existing appliances with poor energy performance by offering rebates for the most energy efficient appliances available. It is important to note that not all ENERGY STAR appliances qualify for the Cash for Appliances rebate program. Please check the qualified product listings available on this website prior to making your purchase to ensure you meet the eligibility requirements and you are purchasing a qualified appliance.
Rebates are offered for qualified products on a first-come, first-served basis until funds run out! Rebates may be combined with existing utility, retailer or manufacturer rebates.

Recycling Information and Recycling Receipt
The Cash for Appliances program is expected to save Washingtonians over 9,180,582 kWh of energy, 141,050,173 gallons of water and over 11,896,782 pounds of CO2 annually through the replacement of old appliances with new efficient models. This is enough energy to fuel 597 homes for one year, and is equal to taking 1,341 cars off the road or planting 179,907 trees. The amount of water saved annually could fill 213 Olympic sized swimming pools.
Washington State sales tax must be paid unless the appliance is installed by a contractor, purchased at a Washington military exchange or from a Washington retailer and have a Native American exemption.
